Organizing sewing room - BEFORE

I have organized and reorganized my sewing room too many times to recall.  For whatever reason, I just couldn't find the method that worked for me.

Usually things stay looking alright for a week or so, then they turn into a mess.

I think I finally have a system down that will work (we'll see) but, here are the BEFORE pictures of my most recent organizing project.

Large, unused pieces of fabric (above)

Fabric scraps stored in a tub piled layers thick... you couldn't see anything deeper than the top layer and it just wouldn't stay orderly when searching for items.

The main fix to my problems... multi-sectioned shelves.  Hubby so kindly assembled them for me :)  Stay tuned for the AFTER pictures of my sewing room organization.

Check out the AFTER pictures and post!

easy tank top

I made this tank top way back in the day, but used to wear it everywhere.  Super simple to make, just a few stitches.

It is just a long tube top with a little bit of straps and some knots added on.

Update on the painting situation: We only have 1 coat left!  FINALLY!  Hopefully that'll be done today.  Then, we're painting over a nasty minty green color that I painted our other spare bedroom.  It'll just be white too (because we bought a 5 gallon tub thinking we'd use it all in our basement... not even close haha) I can't wait to have the house back in order :)

spare bedroom etc.

Well, we're back from vacation and things have been quite busy.  I didn't get to see if the pom pom luggage id tag I made helped to identify my bag or not... since none of our bags made the connecting flight to our final destination, lol.  Luckily we only had 1 day without them :)

Anyways, do you remember that spare bedroom that I textured with tissue paper?  And how... (for several months) it was a never ending project to remove it from the walls?  Well, it's DONE!!  At least removing everything.

We have 1 layer of primer on the wall and added the original "orange peel" texture back to the wall in areas that didn't fare so well in the removal process.

All that's left is 1 more layer of primer and a coat (or 2) of paint!  Whew, that will be nice to finally be done.  Of course, we still have another room to paint, but that will be a breeze :)

I'll be back to sewing/crafting soon!
